
Lisa is an avid fitness and wellness enthusiast passionate about helping others get healthier and happier. She was a D-1 college softball player graduating from Iowa State University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology and minors in Psychology and Spanish. She was an Academic All-American, All -Region, All-Conference, Honorable Mention All-American, Offensive Player of the Year, single season stolen base leader and 2-year co-captain. In high school she was also a co-captain and All-City, All-State and Tucson co-player of the year (1996). Lisa then traveled to Ecuador to work as an English Professor at Universidad Politecnica Salesiana, before returning to college to obtain her Graduate degree in Educational Counseling, Human Relations from Northern Arizona University (2004). Post undergrad she completed 2 marathons before trading in her running shoes for a yoga mat. She completed her 1st hatha yoga teacher training in 2006 at the Yoga Connection. It changed the course of her life personally and professionally. Lisa became a devoted student and practitioner of yoga and somatic therapy practices. Prior to her yoga training, Lisa worked as an in-home family preservation therapist for court ordered families and as a case manager for youth on parole. After completing her Yoga training, Lisa shifted her focus to the integrative realm. She spent 7 years working at holistic treatment center Sierra Tucson as a Therapist, Yoga and embodied movement teacher, and therapeutic recreational activity program (TRAP) manager. As manager of the TRAP program, she oversaw the equine and adventure therapy programs as well as the gym and fitness programs. She has been a Wellness Counselor at world renowned wellness resort, Miraval, since 2014, as a well as a yoga, meditation and mindfulness facilitator. She studied hatha yoga, restorative, kids and prenatal yoga with Priscilla Potter at The Yoga Connection , Vinyasa Teacher Training and Off the Mat into the World with Seane Corn, Freedom Flow with Erich Schiffman, LifeForce Yoga to Beat the Blues with Amy Weintraub, Therapeutic Yoga, Ayurveda and Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy with Michael Lee and Sarah Greco, Thai Yoga Massage with Pam Ronstadt, Belief Breakthrough Method Life Coaching with Terry Hickey, Master level Reiki training with Erika Lee at Soul of Yoga and Emotional Freedom Technique level 1 & 2 with Mary E. Stafford. She is also a certified alcohol and substance abuse counselor and has been extensively trained in DBT, MBSR-T, Couples Relationship Counseling & EMDR. Lisa has facilitated yoga & wellness counseling workshops at Yoga festivals, elementary and high schools, universities, corporations, high school and collegiate athletic teams, studios, gyms, treatment centers and resorts. She was a presenter for the Come to your Mat event hosted by Take Back the Night. Her writing has been published on Breathe online magazine and in the coffee-table book Miraval: Mindful by Design . She was featured in the Fall 2020 Miraval Life in Balance Magazine article "Live Love, Love Life". Lisa works with individuals, couples, families, small and large groups. She is devoted to learning and personal growth. She loves live music, travel, quality time with family and friends, good food, dancing, writing, playing and watching sports and building happy memories with her 2 incredible kids and family. Lisa's intention is to help people experience greater joy, health happiness and flow in their lives. She has extensive experience in Counseling, Life Coaching, Yoga and Somatic Therapy and a vast history of satisfied clients reporting improved quality of life. Her client centered, compassionate and individualized approach will help you gain clarity and achieve the intentions and outcomes you desire. Lisa has also benefited tremendously from yoga and somatic therapy in her personal life related to mental-health, physical injuries, auto-immune disorders, trauma, single-parenting, grief and loss and stress. She has firsthand transformational experiences and knows the benefit of ongoing practice.
